But what makes Primal interesting is that any other stats on the gear are perfect. You still cannot control what stuff it rolls with. Primal gear is virtually identical to regular ancient gear. Augmenting does NOT make any changes to other existing rolls on the item, it simply adds bonus stat, and assuming you could level up the gems enough, allows a method of scaling for you solely based on your GR progression. The bonus is +5 stat for each rank of the legendary gem. For the wizard using topazes and a level 50 gem, augmenting a piece of gear would give +250 int. What augmenting does is it consumes the legendary gem and 3 flawless royals to apply bonus stat to gear. It requires you to have a legendary gem, 3 flawless royals of a type (for damage dealers, the same type as you socket for your primary stat like 3 flawless royal topazes for a wizard) and the piece of gear to augment must be ancient. Which means GR70 is a few steps above T13. Greater Rifts and the level of them is roughly equal to the same torment levels they advertise. ![]() Just followed a build from that website that suited my play style. To give context, and granted I haven't hit a pinnacle quite yet, but I pushed Grift 76 today and I only have one item augmented. Most accounts say primals drop about 1% of every ancient drop. Ancient legendary I think drop 10% the time when you find something legendary. Max stats come from primals, which you unlock after hitting Grift 70. Depending on the jewel you use, it adds +strength/dex/intelligence. And to answer your question about augmenting, it doesn't give you all max stats. You want to focus on using the right skills and getting the right items first. From there you can augment (recipe in cube, page 10/10 I think? Caldessair's Despair I think it's called, might have misspelled). Once you have all your gear and legendary gems in your jewelry and ideal items in kanai's cube, start replacing with ancient legendary items. Optimize your build based on gear suggestions on that site- or based on any build you look up online. Augments will come later if you're stuck in the 40s in great rifts. Start here look up your class and build based on the set you're using. You can also change basic gems (red, yellow, etc) into other types using the cube and a consumable from the camp in act 2. Also, you can upgrade a yellow to a legendary of the same type, that's how I got my weapon drop. ![]() Blood shards have a small chance to give you what you need. Using your guide, target the upgrades you need. If the diamond is filled in it means you've already cubed that special ability. You can select 3 powers to have active in the cube: weapon, armor, trinket. If that is hollow, it can be consumed/sacrificed to the cube. Legendary items have some special effects, denoted by a orange diamond shape. These special gems get a big boost at level 25, so keep that in mind. A proper build will include 3 of these, one in each ring and amulet. Greater rifts reward special gems that you can level up for clearing greater rifts under the time limit. I was in a similar boat a few weeks ago and I agree it's overwhelming.įirst, find a guide for your class and seasonal gear (are you playing seasonal?)
